1 Peter 1:17-19

Contrary to the common antinomian idea that sin has no consequences for the believer, the true converted person takes to heart the warnings/threats of Scripture and earnestly strives after the holiness of God. We fear God and we are genuinely afraid of sinning against Him.

1 Peter 1:14-16

The redeemed in Christ are children of obedience before God. As converted people, our aim in this life is to reflect God’s holiness. This has always been the purpose of God for His people. Peter appeals to the authority of OT Scripture to point out this serious duty in the sight of our holy God.

1 Peter 1:3-5

As those who have been born again by God’s mercy we are heirs of God and we have an everlasting and indestructible inheritance in heaven. God keeps that inheritance safe and He protects His heirs until they finally arrive at the inheritance He has prepared for them.

James 5:13-15

We live in the presence of God. Whether in our suffering or in our joy or even in our sickness, we always look to the Lord for His shepherding care for our body and soul. May our God evermore teach us to depend on Him and to seek him in all affairs of life.
