What to Expect & How to Prepare
WHAT TO EXPECT
Worship Style: Our worship services are traditional but not liturgical. The songs we sing come largely from Hymns of Grace and are generally contemporary in musical style. The central focus of our worship service is the preaching of the Word of God, which typically goes for about an hour. We believe that the church of God is “the pillar and support of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15), and that as such, it is the primary function of the church to preach the Word of God so that people can know Him and His final revelation of Himself in His Son incarnate, our Lord Jesus Christ. In terms of the flow of service, you can find the order of service below with approximate length for each aspect of service.
Congregation Size: We are a small church and no visitor will go unnoticed. What you will find here is a church family. Our people will warmly welcome you and seek to befriend you. If you are a believer and a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, this is a place where you will find fellow pilgrims who also cling onto the Word of God, who earnestly seek to mature in the faith, serve God’s people, learn His truth, and strive to glorify God in all things. If you are not a Christian but you are seeking spiritual help, you will find here people who will come alongside of you as a friend to help you connect with God and find peace with Him through the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Atmosphere: Finally, even though we are a small church, there is nothing casual or flippant about our worship service. God is holy and majestic, as the Bible reveals. Our worship services, therefore, exude the reverence that we owe to our awesome Creator and Redeemer. At the same time, there is a warm, intimate and family-like atmosphere here. Often we share a meal together after church and linger to share life with one another and let our children (there are many young families here!) run around and play with other kids well into the afternoon.

ATTIRE & PREPARING FOR WORSHIP
There is no formal dress code at our church. In general, our people come dressed somewhere between casual to business casual. Those who lead us in worship generally dress more formally to give recognition to the greatness and the holiness of our God whom we come to worship.
The primary area of preparation for worshiping the Lord is the heart and mind. God sees penetratingly into who we are on the inside. As such, preparing ourselves before God to hear His Word and to engage with Him in worship is really the place where everyone should expend their energy.
Apart from this, we only ask that everyone avoid any clothing that will distract others from worshiping the Lord. As the Scriptures say regarding our corporate assembly, dress “modestly and discreetly” (1 Timothy 2:9).
Children’s Ministry
After our time of singing and announcements, the younger children are dismissed for an age-appropriate Bible lesson in our Children’s Ministry. Everyone is welcome to stay for the remainder of the service. Most children ages 10 and up stay in service for the preaching of the Word.
Weekday Community Groups
On a weekday evening (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday), we meet together in regional small groups (called community groups) for a time of worship, fellowship, Bible study and prayer. The biblical material we cover can be found here. The evenings switch off between Bible study and application/implication discussions. We also share with one another our praises and prayer requests and what God is teaching us through His Word. You can learn more on our Community Groups page.
