John sees God on His heavenly throne with a special, sealed scroll – one that can only be opened by the worthy owner and executor of its contents. At first, there seems to be no one that would be able to open or look into it, and so John begins to weep; but behold, the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ is indeed worthy to inherit and enact the contents of God’s plan within the scroll. Upon His taking up of the scroll, all creatures in heaven and earth join in praise and worship of the living, worthy Lamb who was slain as the redeemer and savior of men from every people and nation.
