God uses Samuel as a servant, prophet, and judge for Israel (1 Samuel 1:1 – 7:17)

God answers the prayer of Hannah, by giving her Samuel; she gives Samuel to be a servant of God, and God uses him in great ways. Samuel serves under Eli, the priest, who’s own sons were wicked. God came to Samuel with a message to give – God would punish Eli and his sons for their sin. Samuel, as God’s prophet, spoke to Israel and called them to turn back to God. The people tore down the idols and God delivered them from their enemies, the Philistines. God protected Israel during Samuel’s time as a judge.
