God had promised that the Medes and Persians would destroy Babylon, and that He would use Cyrus to allow His people to return to their land and rebuild the temple. God made His will happen by moving Cyrus to make an announcement, giving His people a heart for worship, and working through Persian rulers to complete the temple. Every effort to oppose the work to rebuild the temple failed, because God always make His plan happen.
