Peter Proclaims Christ’s Life-Giving Power (Acts 3)

Peter and John come across a lame beggar sitting at the temple in Jerusalem. Peter seizes him by the hand and says, “In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!” The man walks and leaps, praising God, and the people are amazed. Peter explains that the power to heal the beggar did not come from himself but from Jesus, the risen Christ whom they disowned and crucified. He told them to repent to be forgiven and that they would be blessed by the Lord’s presence in a restored world. Reading from the Scriptures, Peter then showed them that Jesus is God’s Servant sent to bless them by turning them from their sin.
