Seven men were chosen to help so that the Word of God would not be neglected in the church. The result was that the word of God kept spreading. God really used these seven men, including a man named Stephen, but some Jews really tried to get Stephen in trouble. They made up lies about how Stephen is against Moses and against God. When Stephen was given a chance to speak, he demonstrated that it was actually the Jews who were against Moses and against God. When the Jews were confronted with this truth, they were furious and killed Stephen even though Stephen, a disciple of His Lord Jesus, loved them until the very end.
