Jesus teaches first about treating others how you would want to be treated - that is, to love one’s neighbors, as God commands. Jesus then shows that even though many will choose the easy, broad way that leads to destruction, His disciples should go through the narrow, hard way. It is the way that leads to life and the kingdom of heaven. There will be false teachers that try to mislead God’s people, but their bad fruits will reveal them. No one who teaches against God’s word can produce a life that follows God! Lastly, Jesus teaches the eternal wisdom of building one’s life on the foundation of His word.
