After getting permission from Pilate, Joseph of Arimathea takes Jesus’s body down from the cross and places Him in a tomb. Later on, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Joses, and Salome go to the tomb to anoint the body, wondering how they will roll away the large rock covering the entrance to the tomb. When they arrive, they find that the large rock has already been rolled away, and to their surprise, the tomb is empty except for a young man dressed in white, an angel. The angel says to the amazed women that Jesus has risen and to tell the disciples to meet Him in Galilee. Shaking with astonishment and fear, the women leave without a word. Jesus is alive!
