The kingdom of Israel is divided because of Rehoboam’s foolishness, but God left a part of the people to Rehoboam despite his foolishness, just as he had promised. God also chose to bless Jeroboam. Tragically, instead of worshiping God, Jeroboam created a false religion and led the ten northern tribes of Israel astray. As a result, God pronounced judgement against Jeroboam and will destroy Jeroboam’s kingdom.
