Jesus saves His enemy, Saul (Acts 9:1-31)

Saul, who had heartily approved of Stephen’s death continued to be a man who wanted kill Christians. But, as he was on his way to capture them in Damascus, Jesus appeared to him and stopped him in his tracks. Having been blinded, Saul had to be led to Damascus by hand. Ananias whom Jesus called comes and lays his hands on Saul to restore him. Saul regained his sight and was filled with the Holy Spirit. After being baptized and being strengthened by food, Saul immediately begins to preach Jesus. He does this boldly in Damascus but escaped to Jerusalem when people planned to kill him. Saul had a tough time convincing the brethren in Jerusalem of his sincerity but Barnabas helped the disciples receive him. When Saul’s life was in danger again from boldly preaching Jesus, the brethren once again helped him to escape – this time to Caesarea. God brought about peace in the church.
