Jesus saves both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 10:1-11:18)

Cornelius was a God-fearing Gentile. In a vision, God tells Cornelius to invite Peter to his house to hear a message so he sends for Peter. In the meantime, God had a message for Peter and teaches him to no longer consider unholy that which God has cleansed. God tells Peter to go with the men downstairs – these are the men whom Cornelius sent to find Peter. When Peter arrives at Cornelius’ house, he explains the message he heard from God and preaches Jesus to Cornelius and all those he invited. Peter and the Jews who came with him witnessed the Gentiles receiving the Holy Spirit, just as the Jews did when the Holy Spirit first came upon them. After Peter reported all the details to the Jews in Jerusalem, they welcomed the Gentiles, recognizing that God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.
