A large crowd gathered around Jesus again and we see that a synagogue official named Jairus came to Jesus for help. As Jesus was going with him, a woman who had a seemingly uncurable sickness also came to Him. She believed that Jesus could heal her and was immediately cured! The power to heal this sickness came from Jesus. At this point, we learn that Jairus’ daughter had died, but Jesus tells Jairus to believe. There were people who could not fathom what Jesus meant when He said that the little girl was asleep, but to Jesus, even death does not stop Jesus because as soon as He called Jairus’ daughter to get up, she got up! Jesus has power over sickness and death because He is God!
