With the passing of king Saul, David leads the people around him through example - in mourning of the deaths of Saul, Jonathan, and many Israelites, David shows his love for God and God’s people.

Saul continues to chase after David to kill him, even though David is a faithful servant to the king? But an opportunity arises where king Saul is alone by himself, unaware of David and his men. What will David do?

David’s success makes king Saul jealous and afraid. Saul seeks to kill him, feeling threatened by the victories that God is providing through David. But God also brings Jonathan, Saul’s son, as a true friend to David - one who seeks after God and trusts in Him like David does. Jonathan and David both loved God, and so, were good and loyal friends to each other.

Saul and the army of Israel come face to face with the champion of the Philistines, Goliath. While David sees the other Israelites and king Saul filled with their fear, he instead trusts the LORD to deliver Israel. How will God give them victory over this great enemy?

An Israelite woman prays for a son, whom she promises to give to the LORD; when God answers her prayer with Samuel, God is also planning to use this son in great ways as His servant.
